It comes as no surprise to me that the giant numbers of RSS readers that you’re seeing at some of the most popular technology blogs have about as much in common with reality as I have chance of getting in touch with my feminine side (if you know me this will make perfect sense).
Pete’s post not only explains why the numbers are - as Pete puts it “bullshit” - but provides proof. If you have ever wondered why you have 2/3 the pageviews of some big blogger but only one tenth the RSS subscribers this is a must read. Right about now there are a few bloggers that I bet aren’t too happy about this post. I won’t name any names, I’m sure you can guess which ones are throwing things at the moment.
